Leveling the playing field this Spring, Fan Owned Club returns with another season of #ProjectAscend, where we will give twelve graduating women's college soccer players the chance to continue playing the sport they love in the beautiful Austrian Alps.
Our sport-and-mission-driven initiative to become the preeminent destination for women to extend their professional aspirations through soccer is guided by an experienced NCAA Division I Head Coach who will lead a squad that won their first-ever promotion to the second league and already vying for a second consecutive promotion to the top level Admiral Budesliga in the fall.
With a new crest to unite us, a best-in-class training facility and moving our women’s matches to our main ground, Fan Owned Club is ready to write the next chapter with help from those who want to move women and the game forward.
After turning around the Men's program, we are focused on creating more equity and opportunity on the way to building a regional program, chronicling and sharing the experiences of these amazing women as they go on the journey of a lifetime.
FC Pinzgau Saalfelden were formed in 2007 after the merging of the town's two top football clubs 1. Saalfeldner SK (founded in 1947) and ESV Saalfelden (founded in 1952) into one unified force.
Formed in 2011/12, the FCPS Women are currently one of seven members of the competitive Salzburger Fruenliga, the league rewarding the top finisher of the playoff, promotion to the nationwide sixteen team 2. Liga, one tier below the Admiral Bundesliga.
The club play alongside the Men's first-team at the stunning 1508 Saalfelden Arena with the dramatic backdrop of the Alps making it one of the most beautiful venues for soccer in Europe.
Great fan experiences are commonplace in the world of sports, but unless you happen to work in a front office or you’re incredibly wealthy, the opportunity to get truly behind the scenes of a professional sports club are few and far between.
You only have to look at the recent purchases of several of Europe’s biggest clubs to know that soccer - or football, or fußball, whichever you prefer - is moving ever further away from its supporters.
We are aiming to change that, by giving each and every Fan Owner the chance to see and participate in the inner workings of a soccer club, by bringing the community membership model, more common in Europe, and introducing to United States with a different approach.
We offer Fan Owners the opportunity to put their passion, their skills and their interests into the club to help shape it as it grows.
Along with our current Fan Owners, we are already well underway on our journey to develop Austria’s FC Pinzgau Saalfelden into a truly global club, giving international players, coaches and executives an entry point into European football, and in the process, making Pinzgau a recognizable name and destination across North America, Europe and beyond.
When people think of FC Pinzgau, we want them to think “FCPS, the Fan Owned Club!”
